President's note - August 2011

We were blessed with a sunny day and no rain for our Caledonia show this year.  It went very well and we had many comments about how organized we were.  I would like to say thank you to Norm Kinney's family for bringing out the cars, family and friends.   I hope everyone had a good time.  Several members also helped out with the Spurr Cruise.  It was hopping with over 170 cars - a great turnout!   Car show season is still going strong this August so we hope to see you at a few shows and cruises.

This last year has certainly been known for extremes when it comes to weather.  We had a long bitter cold winter, one of the rainiest springs on record and now this unbelievable heat.  I wonder what fall will bring.  Lets be thankful that even though there are extremes that are hard to deal with at times we are lucky not to have fires and floods and hurricanes here in Rochester.  Find a way to keep cool and enjoy life!

The next meeting is a summer picnic at Linda's house in Hilton - see info elsewhere in the newsletter.  Please call her with your dish to pass.  Bring a chair and a friend along with you.

Below are some pictures of my rat ride racing on the dirt track at the Nationals for 2011. I even had to get my fender brace rewelded before I went home. The guys at Miller welding were a great help.
