President’s Note – June 2011
Sorry for being behind on these notes – I’m not sure what to say. Life is so busy that I don’t get to do all the things that I would like to or plan to do. Do you? We have good intentions but then life gets busier by the minute. I’ve been told it is ok to say no. And I do on occasion. But then I feel guilty for not doing something. Do you remember when life was simpler? When you could sit on the porch and relax with a lemonade and watch the cars go by? When you actually had time to read the Sunday paper? When it might be days without a phone call? When you went to the movie theater or drive in instead of watching TV or your computer screen? When you took the time to write a letter by hand? When you took a walk to the park with the kids and let them play as long as they wanted? And you were content to just watch them? Yes, life has changed just in my lifetime. I wonder what my grandparents thought of the changes in their lifetime and what my grandchildren will think when they are my age.
They say we have had the second rainiest spring on record. I hope that means the summer will be pleasant and that we will have a good day for our car show in July. I look forward to car show season even though Lee’s car is not ready yet. We are planning on the Street Machines show on the 12th. It might be fun to try to do it as a group. Anyone else planning on going?
